About Filmmaker

Kim Noonan (writer, director & actor) is an award-winning filmmaker based in Los Angeles. His debut short film, Running Dragon, closely examines the impact that his mixed Vietnamese heritage had on his American upbringing. The film won the 2008 Best Social Commentary award at the Poppy Jasper Film Festival, was featured in Movie Maker Magazine, and was one of three films chosen by the Vancouver Asian Film Festival for a panel discussion regarding Asian stereotypes and racism in the film and TV community. Although he began his career as an actor and is graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, Kim's transition to filmmaking has been seamless thus far. Since 2007, Kim has completed four short films and developed and co-directed four commercial spots for HotelPlanner.com, which can be seen on cable networks such as E!, TLC, AMC, Bravo and ESPN. In just a short amount time, Kim Noonan has established himself in both the independent film community and commercial world. He is currently working on a documentary about Jovan Kirvoski, an international soccer player from Escondido, who was the youngest American to ever play for Manchester United Youth Team and only American to win a Championships League.
